A message from the Morris Jeff Community School in Mid-City:
Morris Jeff Community School invite you to join us for our 3rd Annual Feria de Primavera (Spring Fair). MJCS has received an amazing level of support from area business owners for the Feria, which will be held this Saturday, May 11th, at First Grace United Methodist Church (corner of Canal & Jeff Davis), from 11am – 3pm. The school invites the community to join in the fun for a great cause.
The Feria will feature carnival games, inflatables, face-painting, music by DJ Brice, an NOFD fire truck, free health screenings, a silent auction, student performances, and great hands-on activities with community partners like NOLA Green Roots, the New Orleans Public Library, Second Harvest Food Matters, the NOPD, and the Welcoming Schools Program. There will be delicious food, including hot boiled crawfish and pulled pork plates, along with beverages for all ages.
A TREMENDOUS thank you to the businesses & their owners who support quality public education in Mid-City. Proceeds from the Feria will be used to support play activities and to help build the playground for the school’s brand new state of the art school facility in Mid City, where construction will begin June 1 at Cleveland Avenue and South Rendon Street (site of former Fisk Howard Elementary School).
