This week, MCNO held a Night Out Against Crime in concert with the national Night Out Campaign and had great representation from the 1st District, the NOPD Crime Prevention Unit, and Mid-City Security District (MCSD). Thank you to all residents and community members who attended the event at Bayou Beer Garden.
The City of New Orleans Official Night Out Against Crime night will be in October and MCNO will host another Night Out event in October, this time in the 3rd District, and we will likely coordinate a walk with it.
Although many people have Night Out parties, we want to ensure that every Mid-Citizen has the chance to be involved in a Night Out event, whether or not there is a Night Out party in their area.
This will also give 3rd District residents a chance to speak with NOPD reps from their District. Those of you from the 3rd District who attended our meeting last night, please know that we will do our best to ensure there is a rep to speak with you at this event. We will invite 1st District to attend this event, as well.
We are also asking NOPD to send a rep to the Meet and Greet portion of every MCNO monthly meeting (6:00pm, Second Monday of every month, 3700 Canal Street). Next one will be Monday, August 8.
