New Orleans, LA: Friends of City Park and Republic National Distributing Company will host the 9th Annual Martini Madness fundraising event on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 7PM – 11PM at City Park’s Arbor Room at Popp Fountain. Proceeds from the event will support the funding of a new train car for the iconic miniature train, the second oldest ride in the Carousel Garden Amusement Park.
Since its inception in 2003, Martini Madness has become one the most popular adult-only fundraising events hosted by Friends of City Park. The evening will feature more than 30 specialty martinis ranging from the classic martini to one-of-a-kind creations and exquisite eats from local restaurants. The evening will kick off with a splash of fun at 7pm – “Before the Madness”, an exclusive hour for Friends of City Park Members with reserved seating into the night, and at 8pm the “Madness” will begin.
Martini Madness 2012 is chaired by Leigh Morgan Thorpe and Annie Orillac Thibodeaux. The honorary chair is Fred Holley.
Tickets go on sale August 24th at midnight and can be purchased at www.friendsofcitypark.com, by calling 504-483-9376 or at the door the evening of the event. Tickets for “Before the Madness” are $75/person and for regular admission $50/person or $45/person for Friends of City Park members. Tickets include all food and beverages. Attendees must be 21 years or older to attend.
The mission of Friends of City Park is to maintain and increase the value and importance of City Park as a place of natural beauty, culture, recreation, and education for the public. All monies raised by Friends of City Park (FOCP) will be used for the capital needs of City Park at the discretion of the FOCP Executive Board. FOCP is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is a registered charity with the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office.
