Mid-City Katrina Service Day
August 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Members from all corners of Mid-City are coming together on one day to positively impact our amazing neighborhood. Be part of this MOVEMENT!
Mid-City Katrina Service Day concept is simple: everyone do SOMETHING to contribute to Mid-City! We have groups of neighbors on individual blocks clearing visible debris around catch basins, picking up trash, and planting water-loving shrubs.
Larger scale projects are happening simultaneously like Greenlight New Orleans installing rain barrels on neighbors’ properties; Mid-City volleyball group cleaning up the bank of the Bayou where they play; Mid-City Vineyard Church picking up trash around Sacred Heart apartments; NOLA Trash MOB executing a clean-up event along Carrollton Ave and Banks Street intersection; Department of Public Works unclogging trouble catch basins; and SOUL NOLA mulching trees along the Lafitte Greenway, with the help of Mid-City Business Association and Parks & Parkways.
A lot of neighborhood love will be happening on Saturday, August 24th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM showing why Mid-City is the best neighborhood in the Crescent City!
Join in the fun! You can:
Pick up trash on your block
Clear lose debris from in front of catch basins
Plant shrubs or trees on your own lot
Or, Join one of the other organized projects mentioned above.
