WHAT:
District “B” Councilmember LaToya Cantrell will hold a news conference to launch the Gert Town “Tell Cantrell” Community Outreach Initiative. The community outreach effort promotes and encourages dialogue between residents, community organizers, the District “B” Council Office and the City Administration. The goal of the initiative is to learn from the neighborhood – what is and isn’t working – from street repairs and sign replacement to blight reduction and public safety issues.

BACKGROUND:
The District “B” Council Office is spearheading outreach efforts to Gert Town residents and is working with community organizers ahead of a July 20thneighborhood restoration project sponsored by the City’s NOLA for Life program. The District “B” Office wants to hear from residents about what’s happening in Gert Town and how City Government can improve the neighborhood and better serve the Gert Town Community.
