We are very sorry to inform you that we have to postpone the public meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 20, 2022. We have heard from a number of people who expressed serious concerns about the wisdom of convening a public meeting during this current spike in Covid cases and urged us to postpone the meeting, given the situation. We have taken these comments seriously and believe the best course of action is to postpone and re-schedule. Certainly, none of us want to be promoting an event which could cause anyone to become ill or contribute to the further spread of this virus. We were also planning on being able to organize the discussion around the new revision of the CEA and the sales tax information, which we still have not received. We don’t think it will be productive to spend time discussing a document which will soon be superseded.
People we have heard from are very interested in this discussion and we are looking forward to it also. We hope to be able to re-schedule it soon. We would prefer an in-person meeting, however we are also looking into what is needed to do the meeting in-person and virtually, including allowing people to ask questions/make comments, if the situation with COVID does not improve in the next week or so. In the meantime, we hope to receive the revised CEA and the sales tax figures so we can review these materials and also get them out to people for the meeting when it does take place, so we can have a meaningful and informed discussion.
We regret having to postpone this meeting and look forward to re-scheduling as soon as possible. We hope this hasn’t caused any inconvenience to you.
