BikeEasy would like to make known a service that they have been providing for about a year now. It is called the Bicycle Incident Map and they are collecting information regarding bicycle incidents and stolen bicycles in the New Orleans Metro area. They use the collected information to highlight problem areas, advocate for more improvements, and hopefully help to recover more bicycles. You can see a map of the latest incidents on our website.
If you haven’t heard of BikeEasy, they are the local cycling advocacy group and our mission is to make “make bicycle riding easy, safe and fun” in the metro area. You can find out more about the group here.
With that being said, if you or someone you know has been affected by either bicycle theft or been involved in an incident: harassment, accident, etc…please take a few seconds to fill out one of the reports using the direct link for Incidents, or to report a bicycle theft.
If you don’t already, think about getting on a bike and pedaling to the next place you want to go. I bet you will discover something new, enjoy the ride and gain a better sense of the city.
