The Bayou Boogaloo is a free festival where the profits from food and merchandise sales go to help benevolent causes in New Orleans.

Plus the Bayou Boogaloo only hires local talent. All the money stays right here in our area.

This year, the Bayou Boogaloo is raising money to restore two play areas on the Jefferson Davis Parkway neutral ground.

Boogaloo Schedule

The Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo schedule has been announced.

Remember, the Boogaloo is on the Jefferson Davis Parkway neutral ground where Orleans Avenue meets Moss, on May 23rd (5-9 pm) and May 24th (10am-9pm).

The Boogaloo features live local and nationally renown bands with an eclectic mix of music and fun. The Boogaloo will feature an art market, children’s entertainers and activities, community info along with consumer resource booths, and canoe races. Plenty of food, drinks, and wonderful merchandise will be available for sale. Find out more at http://thebayouboogaloo.com

Come out and enjoy some neighborhood fun next Friday night! This is sent on behalf of The Bayou Boogaloo festival organizers:

The Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo Festival is a free music festival, held each Spring on the banks of Bayou St. John. In order to keep the festival FREE, a fundraiser will be held on Friday November 2nd @ 7pm, at Studio 3 ( 3610 Toulouse St behind the American Can).

The fundraiser is themed around the Mexican festival “Día de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead), and will celebrate with Mexican food and drinks, live music and a festival atmosphere. Current food donors include Juan’s Flying Burrito, and Tacqueria Guerrero. Admission is $40 per person, $75 per couple, and $300 to reserve a table for ten.

Online ticket purchase should be available in the next couple of days. For now, mark your calendars, line up your babysitters, tell your friends!

On Saturday, May 27th, Memorial Day Weekend, MCNO, in conjunction with the Mid-City Art Market will sponsor a festival on the banks of Bayou St. John. There will be free music at Orleans and Moss by the Can Company. There will also be food and beer and all the festival stuff.

We need sponsors to help finance the festival and volunteers to help on the day of. If you have a business and would like to be a part of the re-building of Mid-City, please let us know. If you have a few hours to volunteer on that day, we welcome your participation.
