Site looks good. How about a mail list or forum on the site? Maybe a page of mid-city businesses that have reopend. Just a couple of ideas.

It would be great if I could join on-line. Mail is still sporadic. And how about e-mail updates automatically sent to those who sign up for them!

Dear MidCity people,
I know and love your city and your MidCity neighborhood, and have been very upset and concerned about the terrible damage Katrina did. I greatly admire the positive determination and spirit you are showing us as you work to bring your lovely city back.
Here is a link to the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s February report on its efforts to bring New Orleans back : http://www.nationaltrust.org/hurricane/trust_in_action_feb06.pdf . I hope you find it ispiring and uplifting.
In order to view this link you need to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (if it’s not already on your computer). Here is the Adobe Acrobat Reader software download website: http://www.download-it-free.com/acrobat/ .
I am a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and I believe it is going to prove to be a very staunch ally of your efforts to rebuild MidCity (as well as the rest of New Orleans). The National Trust considers New Orleans to be an invaluable and irreplaceable national treasure, and I hope that you will find their expertise and help useful as you rebuild and restore your wonderful old homes.
With my best wishes for the complete revival of your beloved neighborhood and city!
